The Decisions we make through our Life

Life is a long walk.

In this walk we run into situations where we have to make decisions.

A decision can be as simple as a quick answer to a question: should I answer this or that? Should I stay longer at the office or go home and see my kids? Should I pay for the chocolate bar I've got in my pocket?

The results of our decisions have consequences. Some good, others not so good. In any case, we have to deal with those consequences. It's easy to embrace them when they are good. Actually, we're quite happy when it happens.
But when the consequences are not good, it is a different story. It is different for every person how to deal with these situations. For some, it takes time to learn to live with them.

Regardless of the outcome of our decisions we have to keep walking and later down the road we will find another crossroad and we are required to make another decision. And this decision making process goes on and on.

So if life is full of decisions and we want to make the best out of them, it's important to know that the decisions we make are based on what we have in our hearts.

When faced with a situation that requires a decision, our self instantly checks a priority list kept within our heart. This priority list is composed mainly of values. This is an instantaneous and unconscious process. We may not be aware of it but it happens anyway.

So the way we live pretty much reflects this priority list.

This helps us understand a bit why we behave the way we do, why we said the things we said. It also helps us understand other people's actions.

So, here are a few questions for our consideration:

What's guiding my decisions? Is it money? What?
What items do I have in my priority list? In which order?

If we answer these questions we'll know a bit more about ourselves.
